Local 38 Member Lost in Tragic Work Accident
Local 38 member Lilianna Preciado was killed in a tragic accident while at work on Wednesday, June 13.
Sister Preciado was a single mother with a two-year old daughter, Aliana. She graduated from the Local 38 apprentice program and worked in the building trades, before going to work at San Francisco's Public Utilities Department.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Liliana's family, and in particular to her daughter Aliana," said Local 38 Business Manager Larry Mazzola, Jr. "Sister Preciado was a good union woman, and a proud member of Local 38. We all deeply mourn her passing.

“We are beyond devastated to learn that we lost one of our own employees this afternoon. Lilianna was a dedicated public servant who proudly served as one of only a few female plumbers on our team,” said Harlan Kelly, the general manager of the commission. “Our hearts and prayers are with her family, friends and co-workers tonight as we all mourn this terrible loss.”
